Caan Floral & Greenhouses represents CND’s most ambitious design work to date. Working with a business such as this requires developing a site that satisfies the needs of a wide variety of consumers in the floral, garden, and landscape areas.

CND addressed those needs by working closely with the Caan owners to assess what their customers needed. Putting store hours, location, and contact information at the top of each page was one result of that close partnership.

Since Caan Floral & Greenhouses sells flowers through a site set up by FTD, a prominent link to that site was another important feature for customers using this site. In addition, a Become a Preferred Customer form was created in order to develop a strong online visitor base. This simple form generates a list of customers who will receive email newsletters and email postcards.

Caan Floral & Greenhouses has three acres of European state of the art greenhouses, an outdoor Perennial Park, and a Tree and Shrub Nursery. CND recommended that online visitors could experience a virtual tour of these areas before and after actually visiting the business location. The first of these, the Greenhouse, features an interactive map showing the major floral areas. Each area is linked to a page that gives visitors information about the specific flowers and plants that are found in the Greenhouse.

Greater Sheboygan Committee

The Greater Sheboygan Committee is a group of community leaders and volunteers who believe that quality of life is highly dependent on the integrity, efficiency and responsiveness of elected officials.

In order to promote this message, the Greater Sheboygan Committee, commissioned CND to design this web site for their Internet presence.

This web site was designed using the CND Content Management System. This system is based on Open-Realty®, a free web-based listing management application. The original application was modified to provide a simple control panel so clients could maintain the content of their web site on their own.

Farm Country Gospel Music

This web site represents a redesign of a previous designer's work. The banner was redesigned with a photo taken by the owner of the site. Eventual plans are to have this banner photo changed each season when appropriate photos have been selected.

Another change was the blue sky and cloud background beneath the banner. It was chosen to give the site a more peaceful feel considering the extensive use of scripture, poetry, and reflections on farm life.

The original inspiration page contained all of the owners writings on one continuous page that used anchor links as the navigation device. Popup pages were used in the redesign so that the inspirational words would appear as a separate window on top of the inspiration page.

The Schreiber Company

The Schreiber Company is a Sheboygan-based, independent real estate company.

The company never had a web site. In order to provide an affordable site that could be easily maintained by the owner, CND looked for an Open Source System that could be modified to meet the company's needs.

The site is based on Open-Realty®, a free, web-based listing management application. It is installed on top of the Joomla Content Management System.

Genmac

Genmac (General Machinery Corporation) has been a world-wide supplier of food processing equipment and cheese cutters for the meat and cheese industry for the past 57 years.

Their original web site had been built using frames. Frames are a form of web design that has fallen out of favor when a web site needs to be highly visible to search engines. Web sites designed with frames can have compatibility issues with some browsers.

This web site was designed with search engine optimization in mind. It was also designed with a portal that allows visitors access to pages of downloadable product brochures when a request form is completed. The information provided on the form is used by Genmac's sales department for prospective customer leads.

Fiesta Hispana

The Hispanic Service Club sponsors a two-day Fiesta Hispana in July. This festival features singing groups, Hispanic culture programs as well as markets and food vendors.

The web site was designed with Flash movies to show visitors some of the performing groups. Local businesses that sponsored Fiesta Hispana were prominently displayed on a special page.

Finally, a page with printable maps to show prospective Fiesta Hispana visitors how to get to the festival in Sheboygan, Wisconsin was provided.

BGC Home Page

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County needed a web site that would market the clubs to prospective parents, teens, and kids. They also needed a place to provide parents and club members with information about up-coming events and activities.

This web site met both needs and will continue to evolve and grow as the needs of the clubs change each year.

Flash and JavaScript programming were used to provide several interactive games as well as a "Flip" book.
